DAY 17 - NAPOWRIMO 2011

Posted to Writers Island

SHED GEAR

It’s all shed gear though, innit?
Not stuff you put in your shed
Stuff that does your shed, right in

Remember; when I say ‘shed’
I obviously mean ‘head’
And I’ll qualify that

Not stuff you put on your head
No… I’m not talking head wear
Like it’s some French to English

Guillaume; meaning William
Garderobe; meaning Wardrobe
Or Gear; translating to Wear

G to W exchange
Thingy, or something like that

No… Stuff that does your head in
And I mean right in… Got it…?

  1. Had it from the get-go... but, you got a poem out of it, right? - well done.

  2. I'm still confused about this stuff that does your head in. I liked the down to earth language in this.

  3. Thanks Viv; Most days something or someone will find a way to confuse or annoy us.

  4. Must admit I'm fairly puzzled by this one, Stan, even though I follow some of the associations...

  5. Thanks Iself; It works then... you either get it... or it does your shed in...

  6. I feel I'd need a sledgehammer to get it in my head. Nicely done Stan.

  7. Thanks Irene; Some can handle more than others.

  8. I don't know what would do me in anymore; my shed is spinning.

  9. Thanks Ron; Wish I could make mine spin!

  10. I so get this! Does it make me a shed-head, I wonder?! LOL

  11. Stan, I can relate to this especially the language references. There are days when I get totally confused between English and Spanish.

  16. Thanks Mad Kane: I've gone all shy now.

  17. So Mad Kane did your shed in, using your own gear, no less?

  18. It must be me, but I found this roundly amusing— and a delightful play with language—

  19. I think thinking too much can probably do your shed in!

  20. The gear in my shed is not helping me right now, but it was a fun read.

    Elizabeth; Innit!

Andy; I know knowing too much does!
