  1. Ha! I had an uncouth double-meaning moment when I read "horseback load", given the rider.

    I can hear the praaa praaa praaaaaap of the horn and the tumble of the hooves and yelping dogs.

    But having more movie time than reading time in my brain, I also hear the fox from Walt Disney's "Mary Poppins" broguing "oi, wurrah wurrah, those hounds'll git me for sure"

  2. Only the ruby redness of the port made the bloodied face of the rider pale... my haiku on renewal here

  3. Japan we venerate nature idea; but not nature. We hunt bigger fox: whale fishery. Not for food - but for politic-food. Use for bargain-chip to allow bluefin-tuna hunt.

  4. Thanks to;
    Kite Horse; I got the image across then...
    John; Certainly not the blood of his victim.
    Walky Soto; Fox and haunter could be metaphors for greed and submission.

    Gautami; Hunter and hunted exist in many forms.
    Fourwinds; Too much unjust persecution of those unable to defend themselves.
