RANDOM ACCESS

 
 
At one time
or another
I thought I knew
a thing or two
 
Friend or foe
I'd have a go
 
Win or not
unimportant
 
Taking part
the achievement
 
Now I know
a thing or three
my memory
a loyal servant
takes great care
to keep me posted
stores events
but most of all
gives me a sense
of satisfaction
 
My reaction
to a challenge
is to keep
that healthy balance
at my core
 
And now I'm sure
that day or night
my mind is strong
 
Am I right?
 
Or am I... wrong?

    I like the difference in sound, as I have only read a few of your poems. As much as I enjoy when you play with sound, I enjoyed this, where you still have sound techniques, but in a quieter way.

    I'm with Margo on this one. Instead of marching to the sound, this one waltzes with the thoughts, leading them eventually to that tangoed set of questions. I've had similar conversations with my thoughts.

    It's all in the mind, but where is the mind? Right and wrong is probably relative, but who really knows. Random access to/of the memory would be cool. Great thinking!
