For Carry On Tuesday
"A song is but a little thing,
And yet, what joy it is to sing!"
TONE DEAF
A song is but a little thing,
And yet, what joy it is to sing!
At least for those who have a voice
But what of those who have no choice?
We nod our heads, whistle along
Tap to the rhythm of the song
But singing is not in my power
I don’t even sing in the shower!
Lol! But you should definitely try singing in the shower sometime, because it really is a joy! I am totally tone deaf, still I don't stop singing, with no concern at all for the people around me!
ReplyDeleteI sing, shower or no shower!...of coz it goes without saying that I never sing for an audience!!!...my voice refuses to come out!
ReplyDeletelovely poem!
My poem may make you feel even worse!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to:
ReplyDeleteAayushi; I might give it a try, when everyone's out of earshot.
Nalini; So we only have your word for it.
Rinkly Rimes; I think I've learnt to accept it by now, however...
Singing is healthy! Just sing!
ReplyDeleteThanks GT; Here goes... 1-2-3-4...
ReplyDeleteEqually good is to write a rhyme, what do you say? Good one, i also dont have much choice but to enjoy the songs.
ReplyDeletei sing at the top of my lungs when alone in my car.

ReplyDeleteSwapnap; Writing rhyme I can do. Lisistening to music/songs I enjoy too.
Nessa; Even when alone I don't sing.
I find that singing in the car is quite satisfying, more than singing in the shower.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet; I just play a CD and listen.
ReplyDeleteyou and I are much alike except I do not mind ribbiting in the shower
ReplyDeleteThanks SGB; I'm glad I'm not the only one.
ReplyDeletethe most important part is the love of singing...not the 'product'!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth; I'm just a stickler for product quality.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the gang.
Great sense of humor Stan, and great courage and foresight not to journey where you're ill-prepared... ;)

Thanks Rob; I know a no-go zone when I see one.
ReplyDeleteThe song doesn't have to be sung with your voice, just your spirit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carina. I listen to a lot of music, and in my imagination I can sing as well as anyone, but...
ReplyDeleteLOL nice. but singing in the shower, not being bothered about what one sounds like, is a pleasure in itself :D try it
ReplyDeleteThanks Titaxy; It doesn't bear thinking about!
ReplyDeleteAwwww. You should sing, just because.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine not singing... your words made me smile and be grateful... and it seems there are several tone deaf people "singing along" today!
Thanks Julie; I might join the chorus.
ReplyDeleteNice rhyme.A good voice or not I believe if you love to sing go ahead, there needn't be any audience. All the same you are doing something what you love and that brings in a lot of joy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ariel. I tried it once when I thought no one was listening. I was overheard - my voice was so bad, everyone thouht I was talking to myself.
ReplyDeleteHi Stan;
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed ur poem...:))
And I am ur opposite in a sense that I enjoy singing in the shower...:))
My first time at Carry On Tuesday...and I would say, it's fun! I am meeting fellow OSI writers here, so in a week, we get to meet everyone like you!
Have a nice day!
Hi Amity; Thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed it. 'Avatar' is OSI's prompt next time.
ReplyDeleteIs still fun, just singing. And the shower covers a multitude of sins, song wise. Your poems always bring a smile.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa; In that case, I'll just let my written words do the singing.
