Very cool. I guess that'll be happening with the Space Station and the Hubble Telescope at some point in time...
Thanks Mark; I guess so - but they had a good life.
What goes up, must come down. I really liked this.
Thanks Thom; Here's hoping for a soft landing!
Great use of words..very nicely done with this prompt.
I hope any asteroids, or space junk slowly descends before it hits earth :)I'm a sucker for a great Haiku which takes so few words and makes an epic, This is fantastic
Great! One can only hope for a graceful, slow descent!
When I was in highschool I was out late one night with a buddy of mine and we saw these massive orange stars trailing fire towards the horizon. We had no idea what to think. Was God raining fire down on us for our sins? Had a plane broken apart in flight? Turns out it was a satellite, burning up on re-entry. A spectacular thing to see. Thanks for bringing back this old memory. It was buried under 10 years of piled debris!
This one was fun read....
This works for so many things. And ain't it the truth.
This was very visual...loved the feeling of space and stars in my head. :~)
Haiku is a great form in how it conveys so much in so less - and you did a absolutely wonderful job! Its a great piece and love the image it brings up!
Thanks to:Bobbie; 3 great words this week. Missy; So do I.Tumblewords; The slower, the better.Asleep on my Feet; I'm waiting for the Leonid meteor shower in Nov. Supposed to be good this year.Jeeves; I prefer to look on the light side.Anthony; You're right - rise and fall. We always want quickest way up; slowest way down.Sweetest in the Gale; Glad it said something to you.Just someone; Yes, I like the form for the same reason.
Few words, powerful images. Lovely.
Inevitability. Nicely drawn.@Asleep Feet: I saw that, too. I was in college at the time, and it was spectacular. Maybe 1987? I forget exactly.
Thanks to:Zouxzoux; how we want it to be.PJD; everything runs its course.
simple, full of truth, I like "riot of life"
Lhanks Lissa; Compared to the descent, life IS a riot...
