NAPOWRIMO 2013 #18

NEWTON'S 3RD

Blue light patrol in the no-go zone
New tight control sets a slow-mo tone
Patience and tact disperse the factions
No fast reactions
Crime-rate subtractions

Street gangs regroup and revive the noise
'Sweet Cantaloupe' leads the East Side boys
Tooled-up for action the air is tense
Feel the suspense
Search for some sense

Side streets deserted you heard the shout
High heat alert spreads the word about
Road junction lookouts adorn the morning
Large crowds are forming
No further warning...

  1. Your wordplay is impeccable, if alarming.

  2. You have such fun. If I read enough of yours, I may try an end-rhyme poem, maybe.

  3. I really admire the internal rhythm and rhyming.
There is quite a bit going on, all seeking to be newsworthy.
    All noteworthy.

    Thanks for your visit.

  6. I've read that drug trafficking is one of the leading reasons that gangs fight. Incisive and compact poem, Stan!
