For Carry On Tuesday
If I should die, think only this of me
And Monday Poetry Train Revisited
STILL STANDING
The first time I died
Nobody noticed
No tears shed
No flowers
No regrets
The second time round
Only the killer
Was ever aware
And even then
It took ten years
Third time was different
It lasted longer
Missed by the two
People who knew
People who cared
If I should die
For a fourth time
Think only this
It’s not the end
Of me…
Ah! Reincarnation! I don't believe in it but it's very much food for thought
ReplyDeleteVery challenging! Strange! My hubby and I were just chatting about this very topic this afternoon as we enjoyed a glimpse of sunshine on the waters of Westernport Bay. His thoughts were that we are energy that can never be destroyed. We exist through time round energy sources till it is time to live again!

ReplyDeleteRinkly Rimes; It's more about, renaissance than reicarnation, after putting your life into something, only to lose it - and being declared dead in error.
GT; I guess being able to overcome things and start again is a kind of reincarnation.
I like the idea of coming back - a chance to do it better?
ReplyDeleteThanks ViV; If at first you don't succeed...
ReplyDeletewelcome back!
ReplyDeletelovely poem!
Not sure I'd want to keep coming back. I'd probably reappear as something I dont like - a lump of marzipan or a stem of sprouts!

ReplyDeleteJingle; Good to be here... again.
Keith; The things you learn from the previous time ensure you always come back stronger.
I kind of think of this as parts of our life dying but we still go on. I like the hopefulness!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda; Without hope, we wouldn't survive.
ReplyDeleteI knew you had some cat in you...I think a sleek black panther waiting to pounce
ReplyDeleteThis is a hopeful poem Stan
ReplyDeletePamela

Well said, Stan. I think I'm working on the 17th life. Reinventing yourself is a good way to look at it.
