NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Return from another world
Re-entry takes one small step

An Alien atmosphere
Until signs of life are seen

Wall of china monument
Visible from inner space

Welcomes me to planet earth

    This reminds me of the way people have to take only their most treasured posessions when they are forced by circumstances to go into an old folks home - sad relics of a happier world...Guess that applies to the things as well as their owners...

    Really enjoyed micro- to macro analogy wrt wall of China. Also resonated in that familiar reduces culture shock after travel. Love how much stated in such few words. Thank you.
