Interesting the perspective from different parts of the globe--rice. We just finished wheat harvest.
Great take on the harvest.
And the ongoing cycle. Nice one.
I love the word "fallow" - those round vowels. Say it aloud with me... fallow... aloud... fallow... aloud.Ahhhhh.Disappearing traces all across our three word wednesday adventure today! Read my 3ww here.
Very evocative.The word erase seem to suggest some kind of finality here. As if the rice will never grow again.
Here in Oregon we say that when an apartment complex is named Meadow's Edge that is what they covered up to built it. Sad isn't it?I like what happens in your poem much better.bv
Thanks to;Lilibeth; The rice harvest was actually at the end of last year.Thom; Very limited mechanisation, a real 'hands on' job.Anthony; What goes round...Julie; That's where the words lead us this week.Vivek; Planting is taking place about now, and harvest at the end of the year. For 6 months it's too hot and dry, so the fields are left to return to the wild.B;
I love that it sounds almost violent, but such is the life of a crop.- Dina
Thanks Dina; Harvest with a sickle does have an element of violence.
reminds of my days when i was always in the field...:)cute use of the prompt! too good, too real!
Thanks Amity; It happens all around me, every year.
Haven't stopped by in a while, Sorry, I gotta say: I don't know how you keep up the productivity & always such quality stuff. I salute you. And thanks for your regular visits to Scrambled, Not Fried
Thanks Ron. It could be something to do with the quality of the prompts, and hey, your work is quality too.
funny, this could be taken either negative or positive, I like that it's left to interpretation.
I swiped this from you. Please let me know if that's all right.
A life cycle, circles of crops. I so enjoyed this!
Thanks to:Dee; The title 'Fallow' is perhaps ironic - or even naive from the farmers' perspective.Alice; No problem.Tumblewords; I never saw the coincidental similariy...
from the title to the last word shouts... everything is there that needs to be said.. good one stanski... definitely a keeper
Thanks Onemorebeliever; The life-cycle of Rice.
