WORDLE #127

For Sunday Whirl: Peering, Three, Pile, Apples, Spirits, Stories, Clues, Rash, Claws, Secret, Cradle, Exile.

HOME TRUTH

Peering into your conscience
at three decades of decay
a pile of rotten apples
denounces your high spirits

Your stories reveal the clues
and the truth spreads like a rash
that your sharpened claws can't scratch

You'll never keep a secret
from the cradle to the grave

...unless you live in exile

  1. Good fuddle! I think you're right, the clues to the truth are in the story.

  2. pfff, don't talk to me like that - as if you stared in my soul/history and went on to describe it in such words.... Honestly, I felt on display ;-) What I felt reading your poem reminded me of the lyrics of 'Killing me softly', second stanza...

  3. I love where this handful of flung words took you - which is why I never consider the "wordle words" a game or an exercise but rather a bunch of keys that open up the unconscious. I truly enjoyed this one .. especially the crescendo
    "You'll never keep a secret
from the cradle to the grave

    ...unless you live in exile"

Thank you for this one! :)

  4. Strong piece, Stan. "A pile of rotten apples..." Yum. I can smell them all the way over here in Montana.

  8. I think I would prefer to live in exile than to reveal certain secrets...

  11. I think there is a time for secrets and a time for them to emerge. What must be avoided is the hurt that they cause.
