This weeks words are:
Thunder, Vowed, Inherit, Deeper, Stand, Umbrella,
Become, Joined, Shifts, Excuses, Childhood, Light.
It's been a long time...
LIGHT SOURCE
Under a dark thunder cloudwe both vowed to inherit
a deeper sense of merit
letting us stand together
under the same umbrella
to become joined at the hip
working continuous shifts
to un-make old excuses
renewing childhood truces
... and at last seeing the light..
I've missed you, and your elephant. The hope in this piece comes with effort. Life isn't easy, but the light...ah yes. It's always there if we look.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you, Stan. It has been a while. Love the concept of standing under the same umbrella.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda; Never easy, but worth the effort...
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary; You can take it literally or metaphorically.
Really good to see you Stan. You are a light source. Any committed relationship takes hard and continuous work, would that we all stood beneath that umbrella,
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Thanks Elizabeth; Sometimes we just have to stand in the rain...
ReplyDeleteThat was very well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mad Kane; I'm a bit out of practice, so far from perfect...
ReplyDeleteEven when we think there is nothing ... there is usually that tiny slip of light we don't even think we see.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Thanks Daydreamertoo; Sometimes thats all it takes
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and visiting my wordle.
ReplyDeleteI like the compact verse you offer. It reminds me of my reconciliation
with one of my siblings. We finally agreed that we can agree to disagree and still remain friends. You've got a bunch of stuff I'd like to read...I just need to find the time. Glad you are 'Wordling' -
I'll have to look for you over at Mad Kane's Limericks as I just sort of started posting there. Cheers.
Thanks Jules; You're welcome to stop by any time and I certainly intend to check out more of yours...
ReplyDelete"Renewing childhood truces..." Renewing any truces, with ourselves and others. I need a bigger umbrella or to learn to enjoy the rain. Glad you are still standing- does make me wonder where you have been.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teri; I've been here all along... Just keeping quiet...
ReplyDeleteHi Stan, it's nice to hear from you :-) I love the "working continuous shifts / to un-make old excuses"
ReplyDeleteSmiles
Hi Mariya; Good to hear from you too... Thanks for stopping by...
ReplyDeleteHi Stan. Another lovely concise poem. You and Walt amazed me this week. Probably because I waffle on so...see? Those were great words to play with, weren't they? And, because I'm so late it getting it done, I don't have so long to wait for the next bunch. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronica; Late works for me... I'll get over to yours... Later...!...:)
